Sequins and leather

The Oreo cupcake I had for breakfast got that little bit sweeter as I was greeted by this story in the morning paper. Yes, the one and only Karl Lagerfeld is bringing a (more affordable) line of his Chanel visions to Sydney. KARL will be sold through e-tailer Net-A-Porter, officially launching at Bondi at noon today, simultaneous with New York, Paris, London and Berlin.

Excited? Sneak peeks of the line reveal pieces donned with sequins and leather (squeal), ranging from around $50 for a tote to $1500 for edgy leather jackets. KARL also features the designer’s trademark fingerless gloves. Preview some of the collection here

Yay for being a Sydneysider!

We need people in our lives with whom we can be as open as possible. To have real conversations with people may seem like such a simple, obvious suggestion, but it involves courage and risk.

It’s Tebow time: Denver quarterback inspires nation

“When someone like Tebow emerges — charismatic, impressive and pure on and off the field — you feel proud,” he says. “You just don’t want to take it too far and get silly. God doesn’t wax and wane like a football player’s success.”  Tom Krattenmaker (Author, Onward Christian Athletes)

This guy dominated the headlines on my Yahoo! homepage and I couldn’t help but do a little research. No, I’m not an NFL follower. In fact, the only player in the sport I am even remotely familiar with is Tom Brady (and that’s only because he’s married to Gisele Bundchen).
But I found this so incredibly refreshing to read. It’s great to see the example Tebow’s setting to the NFL and its fans, not to mention how God is working and using his talent!
I love this excerpt from his autobiography, Through My Eyes:

“People often seem to think that when you’re following the Lord and trying to do His will, your path will always be clear, the decisions smooth and easy, and life will be lived happily ever after and all that. Sometimes that may be true, but I’ve found that more often, it’s not. The muddled decisions still seem muddled, bad things still happen to believers, and great things can happen to nonbelievers. When it comes to making our decisions, the key that God is concerned with is that we are trusting and seeking Him. God’s desire is for us to align our lives with His Word and His will.”

JOHN 3:16
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.
